Donald Driver brought another trophy to Titletown after winning ABC's hit show Dancing With the Stars
Donald Driver parlayed his on-field success and charismatic personality into a spot in one of TV’s hottest reality shows, ABC’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’. A fan of the show since Season 1, Donald knew he had a lot of hard work ahead of him if he wanted to take home the Mirror Ball Trophy.
Donald and his partner, Peta Murgatroyd, worked tirelessly to impress the judges and millions of television viewers. Although some of the judges proved difficult to impress, it wasn’t long before people all around the world started to fall in love with Donald’s smile, radiant personality and inspiring journey from homeless youth to NFL star.
With the fans behind them, Donald and Peta danced their way all the way to the finals; and once they were there, there was no looking back. The duo clinched the competition with a country-inspired freestyle dance judge Carrie Ann Inaba called her favorite finals dance ever.
To celebrate Donald’s victory, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker officially declared May 23rd as “Donald Driver Day.” Donald’s Mirror Ball Trophy has made appearances all across the state of Wisconsin; Packers President Mark Murphy even used it to fire up the crowd at the team’s annual shareholders meeting. While Donald appreciates the attention his victory has received, he knows he couldn’t have won the trophy without the support of all of his fans. “I can’t thank all the fans who voted enough. I couldn’t have done it without you, and will forever remember the love and support you all showed throughout this entire competition. God Bless!”
